cage match in 1987. The result was not officially cleared,
though, causing a split between the AWA's head bookers.

rematch with Hennig and the title change in the disputed cage match
remains unratified and ignored)

vacant Intercontinental title in Austin, Texas, April 23rd 1990
(The WWE Intercontinental title was dropped by Ultimate Warrior after
he had defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWE World Heavyweight title at
Wrestle Mania VI on April 1st 1990. So an eight-man tournament
was set up to
determine the next IC champion. Mr. Perfect defeated "Superfly"
Jimmy Snuka in the first round on April 4th 1990, and received a bye
into the final after "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "The Model" Rick Martel
suffered a double disqualification in their first round match-up.
